Cut down on winter drafts
To reduce cold wind entering through windows and doors, there are several measures you can take:
Weatherstripping: Install weatherstripping around windows and doors to create a seal and prevent drafts. This can be done using adhesive-backed foam tape or door sweeps.
Caulking: Apply caulk around window frames and door frames to seal any gaps or cracks that may be allowing cold air to enter.
Window Insulation Film: Use window insulation film to create an additional barrier against drafts. This film is applied to the inside of windows and can help to reduce heat loss.
Draft stoppers: Place draft stoppers or door snakes at the bottom of doors to block cold air from entering underneath.
Window coverings: Use heavy curtains or blinds to provide an extra layer of insulation and block drafts from entering through windows.
Insulated doors and windows: Consider upgrading to insulated doors and windows, which are designed to provide better insulation and reduce heat loss.
By implementing these measures, you can effectively minimize the amount of cold wind entering through windows and doors, crating a more comfortable and energy-efficient environment.
